New Delhi : Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Friday said he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
“I have tested positive for COVID with mild symptoms. Have isolated myself since the onset of symptoms and all those who were in contact with me have been tested,” the Lieutenant Governor informed through Twitter.
Mr Baijal further said that he will continue to monitor the National Capital’s situation from his residence. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, quoting Mr baijal’s tweet, wished him a speedy recovery and good health.
Notably, Mr Baijal was administered the first dose of COVID vaccine on March 4 at Tirath Ram Shah Hospital here.
The National Capital, which has been from past several weeks reeling under a severe COVID induced crisis, on Thursday registered 24,235 new cases of COVID-19 along with nearly 400 deaths. Meanwhile the country, in the last 24 hours, recorded 3,86,452 fresh infections, the highest single-day spike since the pandemic began. As many as 3498 people succumbed in the same period.
