Delhi gets relief from scorching heat as rainfall lashes several parts

New Delhi, June 30 (Dumanimail) After a long spell of scorching heat the national capital Delhi and its adjoining areas on Thursday morning received rainfall, which has brought some relief from the sweltering heat. As per India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the city was recorded at 27.6 degree Celsius, which is the season’s normal average temperature. “The relative humidity at 8:30 hours was settled at 80 percent” as per IMD. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover around 35 during the day time, as the IMD predicted generally cloudy sky with moderate rain thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds. Following heavy rainfall in parts of the city and IMD forecast, Delhi Traffic Police on Thursday issued an advisory for road commuters. “As per IMD report, ‘thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds’ would occur over and adjoining areas of the Delhi. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly,” tweeted Delhi Traffic Police. Earlier, IMD predicted moderate to heavy rainfall for Thursday. “There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall on Thursday, which will bring down the maximum daytime temperature to 37 degrees Celsius. It may drop to 35 degrees depending upon the intensity of rainfall, which will vary across the city,” said IMD. Meanwhile the India Meteorological Department said conditions are favourable for the monsoon to reach the national capital either on Thursday or Friday.
