New Delhi, July 23 (Dumanimail) A Special CBI Court of Delhi dealing with MP’s & MLA’s cases reserved its order against Former Janta Dal United MP Anil Kumar Sahni and others on the allegations of claiming reimbursement on the basis of forged air tickets and passes from Rajya Sabha Secretariat to cheat the Government.
Central Bureau of Investigation investigated that Sahani in conspiracy with other persons allegedly used forged e-tickets and fake boarding passes to defraud Rajya Sabha to the tune of Rs 23.71 lakh as travel and dearness allowance reimbursement without taking the actual journey.
The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) registered the case and then referred to CBI in 2013.
After investigation CBI filed a chargesheet in 2015 against Anil Kumar Sahani, a Janata Dal-United (JD-U) MP from Bihar, Anup Singh Panwar, an employee of Delhi-based Air Cruise Travels Private Limited, N S Nair- then Office Superintendent (Traffic) of Air India and a private person Arvind Tiwari under the various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Indian Penal Code included criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and abuse of the official position.
Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal after hearing arguments on behalf of Prosecution and Defense Counsel reserved its order in the matter and adjourned the matter for pronouncing the judgment/consideration/further proceedings on August 4.
