New Delhi, Apr 4 (UNI): India’s daily COVID-19 tally continued to register an upward trend as 93,249 fresh cases were registered in the country during the past 24 hours. As many as 513 people lost their lives during the time.
This is the highest single-day spike registered in the country during 2021 and also the highest in 24 hours since mid-September 2020.
India’s active cases count has increased to 6,91,597, accounting for 5.54 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate has dropped to 93.14 per cent.
As per the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh together contribute 81.42 per cent of the new cases.
