Kendrapara : In a tragic incident, a college girl in Odisha’s Kendrapara district died after she allegedly set herself on fire today. The incident occurred at Badapada village under Pattamundai police limits in the district. According to the report, the deceased, a plus-3 final year student of Pattamundai College poured kerosene on her while her family were away from home. She reportedly died on the spot. “My daughter took this extreme step following the continuous blackmailing by her male friend. He was repeatedly blackmailing my daughter. Although we had earlier lodged a complaint, the
police did not listen, said the deceased’s father.” On being informed, Pattamundai police rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident. Worth mentioning, this is the third immolation case in the state. Earlier, a student of FM College in FM Autonomous College set herself on fire after continuous harassment by her HOD.
