CM M.C Majhi to Grace PMKISAN Programme at ICAR-CIFA

Bhubaneswar : ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar, will host a state-level event on 2nd August 2025 to commemorate the release of the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN, the flagship scheme of the Government
of India aimed at supporting farmers’ welfare. The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sri
Narendra Modi, will release the 20th instalment from Varanasi, which will be livestreamed across the nation. As part of this national event, ICAR-CIFA has been
designated as the state-level venue for Odisha, where the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, along with other dignitaries and senior
officials, will also be present on the occasion. More than 500 farmers from various parts of the state, along with senior officers, agricultural scientists, and officials from line
departments, are expected to participate in the event at CIFA campus. The programme will include interaction of farmers with dignitaries, sharing of success stories, dissemination of information on agricultural schemes, and promotion of best practices in fisheries and aquaculture. On this day, the Hon’ble Chief Minister will also interact with farmers and emphasize the importance of agriculture and scientific farming practices in enhancing farmer income.This event reaffirms the Government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, strengthening the agriculture and allied sectors,
and promoting timely financial assistance and technological outreach to farming communities. ICAR-CIFA, as a premier research institute under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), continues to play a vital role in supporting farmers through cutting-edge research, training programmes, and community outreach, as informed by Dr. P. K. Sahoo, Director, ICAR-CIFA.
