After an hour-long meeting with NSA Ajit Doval in South Block, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held delegation level talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Hyderabad House on Friday. In a visit kept under tight wraps by officials from both sides, the Chinese FM arrived late last evening in the Indian capital from Kabul.
It is the first visit by a senior Chinese minister to New Delhi since the Galwan clash two years ago. His visit comes two days after India slammed the Chinese Foreign Minister for his remarks on Jammu and Kashmir at the Organisation of Islamic Conference meet in Islamabad. India has said that relations with Beijing are dependant on peace and tranquility at the border, and the “state of the border will determine the state of the relationship”. Meanwhile, the Tibetan Youth Congress has planned a protest in front of Hyderabad House over the visit of the Chinese Minister. After his meetings in India, Wang Yi leaves for Nepal in the late afternoon for a two-day visit
