Raipur : Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh for the next of kin of a person who died when a vehicle, heading for Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh from Sambalpur in Odisha, knocked down members of a Dussehra procession on Friday afternoon in Jashpur district’s Pathalgaon.
The deceased was identified as Gaurav Agrawal. Sixteen people were injured, many of them severely. A dozen are under treatment at Pathalgaon’s Community Health Centre whereas four critical cases were referred to the District Hospital in Raigarh.
Station House Officer Santlal Ayam was line attached and Sub-Inspector KK Sahu suspended.
