Patna : Four-day Chhath festival ended today with millions of devotees offering ‘Araghya’ to rising Sun in Bihar.
Millions of the people thronged on the bank of Ganga river in Patna besides other rivers across the state where devotees offered ‘Araghya’ to the rising Sun, marking the end of the four-day Chhath festival.
Devotees were also seen spending the whole night on the bank of Ganga river and other rivers to offer ‘Araghya’ to the rising Sun.
Adequate security arrangements were made to ensure a hassle-free celebration of the Chhath festival. Jawans of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed in Holy Ganga and other rivers to rescue persons in trouble.
Family members of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar observed the Chhath festival at one Anne Marg, the official residence of CM. Mr Kumar offered ‘Aragahya’ to rising Sun along with his other family members and friends.
