Udupi : Officials from an Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) reached Udupi district to inspect and assess the damages caused by the Tauktae cyclone recently.
It may be recalled here that the district which received incessant rains for four days due to the impact of the cyclone had suffered extensive damage of property and crops. Fisheries roads were also damaged due to the rough sea.
On Friday, the Central team visited Padubidri Nadipatna and also the Padubidri beach. Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesh, Kaup Tahsildar Pratibha, State Natural Disaster Management Team’s Commissioner Manoj and other officials were also present there.
The team which will assess the damages in three taluks will then submit its report to the Union Home Ministry.
