Kolkata : A motor-cycle ridden smuggler with 12 gold bars worth over Rs 1 crore lakh was nabbed by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday near the international border in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district.
The nabbing happened at Hakimpur border under Swarupnagar when the BSF jawans chased the smuggler and held him last evening and during frisking the force found 12 gold bars, weighing about 1 kilo 400 grams.
The contraband gold was handed over to the Customs officials posted at Tentulia and the smuggler were handed to the local police station.
