Hyderabad : Banking services were affected in Telangana following the two-day strike by employees and officers of Public Sector Banks (PSBs) which began on Thursday.
The strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an umbrella body of nine bank officers and employees unions, was against the union government’s move to privatize PSBs.
Banking services including cash deposits and payments and clearing of cheques and sanction of loans were affected owing to the strike.
At many places, the striking employees staged protest rallies holding placards and raising slogans against the privatization.
Employees of Rural banks also joined the protest.
