Hyderabad : Extending his heartiest congratulations to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Alai Balai Celebrations held at the sprawling Jal Vihar on Necklace Road in Hyderabad on Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said strengthening the spirit of ‘ Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’, Alai Balai presents a great platform to folk artists of diverse regions to showcase their skills.
In a letter addressed to Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya, Modi said ‘it is heartening to learn about the Alai Balai Celebrations at Hyderabad. The Celebrations soon after Vijaydashmi add to the festivities of the people of Telangana and exemplify our indomitable spirit.
As part of our cultural richness, Alai Balai fosters the spirit of unity and harmony in the society. Cutting across barriers, the joyous occasion brings people together, the PM said.
The occasion offers everyone a great opportunity to cherish the traditions, culture and cuisine of Telangana.
‘ I am sure that the celebrations will contribute towards the sublime ideals of inclusiveness as well as social harmony. May the spirit of oneness and goodness pervade every heart”, the PM added
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundaryarajan inaugurated the cultural fest as part of Alai Balai Duseera Milan organized by Dattatreya’s daughter Ms. Bandaru Vijayalaxmi.
Alai Balai is a cultural event held during the Navarathri festivities before Dassera. It showcases the life of people in the State of Telangana. The festival aims to spread camaraderie and brotherhood among people.
The festival was started by Bandaru Dattatreya, Governor of Haryana and Former MP and Central Minister first at Nizam College. The event is held every year in Hyderabad on the occasion of Dasara festival.
The event is well attended by all sections and politicians of all regions.
A typical ambience of the rural area in Telangana is created and is popular for the food festival for its traditional food delicacies.
