Chennai : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin today urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide higher allotment of 500 Metric Tonnes of Oxygen for the State for treating COVID patients.
Mr Modi, while discussing about the prevailing COVID situation in the State during his telephonic talk with Mr Stalin, promised to consider the request immediately, an official release said.
During the telephonic conversation, Mr Stalin sought the Centre’s support and cooperation to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
While promising full support, Mr Modi informed Mr Stalin to increase the tests to control the virus spread and to observe those with mild symptoms under home quarantine.
Mr Stalin told Mr Modi that necessary steps will be taken in this regard, the release said.
