Puri : All the precious jewels and items of the original Ratna Bhandar, which got a new
look after conservation and renovation, have been taken to Puri permanently today. The
work started at 10.55 am today and was completed at 2.55 pm. The work has been carried out as per Shri Jagannath Temple Rules-1960 and the guidelines approved by the state government. The original Ratna Bhandar (both exterior and interior) was used for repair and preservation during the Rath Yatra last year (2024). The jewellery and materials were shifted to Khatshej Ghar (Inside) and Changda and Phool Ghar (Outer Storeroom) as temporary storerooms. On July 7, the ASI completed the repair and
preservation of the original Ratna Bhandar (both exterior and interior) and today all the
valuables from the temporary store have been permanently moved to the original Ratna
Bhandar. Prior to this relocation, on the 19th of this month, The refurbishment was reformed. As per the pre-arranged arrangements and the guidelines of the state government, the members of the Ratna Bhandar Committee and the high-level committee entered the Srimandir Jagmohan in traditional attire this morning. The process started with the blessings of Lord Mahaprabhu. The temporary inner store or
strongroom khatshej house was opened in the presence of the magistrate with the key from the treasury. All the valuables were taken to the permanent inner storehouse from there. After all the ornaments and materials were gone, the original interior was opened as per the arrangements. The Ratna Bhandar was locked and sealed in the presence of the Magistrate and the relevant keys were deposited in the District Treasury. After this, as per the arrangements, the temporary outer storeroom or strongroom of Changda Ghar was opened. The keys of Gajapati Maharaja, the Srimandir administration and
the three keys of the Bhandar Makeup were opened. From there all the items were taken to the original outer storeroom which had been redesigned. After all the items were
transferred, the original outer store was locked and sealed. The transfer process of both the stores was also video graphed. After the completion of the work, all the members paid obeisance to the Lord and left Jagamohan after security check.
