Meteorological Department’s (IMD) heavy rain alert for southern districts. Jharsuguda BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy confirmed on Tuesday that Modi will address a public
rally at the Amlipali Ground in Jharsuguda, adding that the entire state was prepared to welcome the Prime Minister. The rally was originally planned at Chhatrapur in Berhampur. However, the venue was changed after the IMD forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in districts including Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati and
Puri on September 27. The department has warned that adverse weather conditions could persist till September 29 due to consecutive low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal.
