Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Adivasi Mahasangh today met Chief Minister Mohan
Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan to discuss a range of issues related to tribal welfare and community advancement. The delegation, comprising office bearers and members from 11 districts, presented various proposals aimed at the holistic development of the tribal population. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, emphasizing that the upliftment of tribal communities remains a top
priority. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on empowering the poorest
sections of society, CM Majhi highlighted that tribal groups form a critical part of this
mission. He cited multiple welfare schemes being effectively implemented for tribal
empowerment. Key measures discussed during the meeting included livelihood
enhancement, educational support, and eliminating harmful social practices through
community awareness. The CM announced the formation of two new regional development councils—North Odisha Development Council and South Odisha Development Council— to accelerate infrastructure and socio-economic progress in tribal belts.
