Bhubaneswar, : Odisha State Open University (OSOU) marked another step towards skilling and empowering learners across the country by launching “DAKSHATA” – a set of 10 industry-focused skill enhancement courses in collaboration with its industry
partner uLektz, on 5th July 2025 at 11:30 AM from its headquarters in Sambalpur.
The launch event was made more auspicious as it coincided with the divine celebration of Bahuda Yatra of Lord Sri Jagannath Mahaprabhu. The launch ceremony was graced by Prof. Shyam Sundar Pattnaik, Vice-Chancellor, along with Dr. Chitta Ranjan Sahu, Registrar, Shri Nalini Ranjan Sarangi, Controller of Finance, Deputy Registrar, Directors of Schools, and all faculty and staff members of OSOU. The event signified OSOU’s
commitment to blending academic learning with employability-driven skills through accessible, digital platforms. The DAKSHATA programme offers 10 specialized skill enhancement courses targeting both engineering and non-engineering students across Odisha and India. The following courses were launched: Artificial Intelligence, Corporate Communication, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Data Science and Machine Learning, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Python Programming, Social Media
Marketing, Web Technologies Each course is structured with 3 credits, comprising 90 notional hours of study, and aligned with the National Credit Framework (NCrF). Learners can accumulate these credits in their Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) IDs,
thus enabling seamless integration into formal education pathways and career portfolios. The Odia version of these courses will be launched before 31st of August this year as stated by the ViceChancellor. The courses are now available through the DAKSHATA web platform as well as the DAKSHATA mobile app, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store, offering ease of access and learning flexibility to
students and professionals alike. Through this initiative, OSOU reinforces its commitment to accessible, affordable, and quality education, driving forward the Digital India and Skill India missions by making contemporary, industry-aligned skills available to all learners.
