Khordha, :There are allegations that the Physiotherapy dept.of District Head Quatre Hospital (DHH) Khordha is not providing proper treatment to the patients & not properly assessing a patients conditions using inappropriate treatment techniques for the injury & failing to progress exercises appropriately, neglecting to educate the patients on home care, exceeding the scope of practice, improper use of electrotherapy modalities, not addressing red flags indicating a serious medical condition & not maintaining proper hygiene standard during treatment session. There is s lot of dissatisfaction among patients. For everyday more than 100 patients come from khordha district & its adjunct areas for physiotherapy treatment in DHH, Khordha. The DHH requires 5 physiotherapists but now only 2 physiotherapists are working. Due to insufficient of staffs patients are not able to get proper treatment. In the absence of trained personnel the high quality machinery provided by the govt. could not be used since long time. Only minimal equipments is used to treat the patients. Patients are forced to depend on private Physiotherapy centre’s as they do not get proper medical care in the Physiotherapy dept.of DHH Khordha. Taking advantages of this, without any training in Physiotherapy treatment, now in khordha town & its surrounding areas Physiotherapy treatment center’s are open & playing with the lives of the people & earning huge money. Similarly, patients suffering rom paralysis & some other complex disease are unable to come to the hospital for treatment, so, they call the untrained staffs of the Physiotherapy center at home for treatment. However, there are many patients complaints that the staffs of the Physiotherapy center is treating the patients more than the desired results. The general public demanded that State Health Minister kindly give the special attention about the matter
