Alleged child swapping in Cuttack SCB

Cuttack,: In a shocking incident, there has been alleged child swapping incident in SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack city of Odisha. The relatives have complained that they were handed over a dead baby instead of their baby girl.According to reports, there was an allegation that the newborn girl was swapped while she was under treatment at SNCU (Special Newborn care Units). Relatives have alleged that the staff exchanged the newborn girl and handed over a dead baby. The family of the mother of the child has written a complaint to the SCB chairperson regarding this incident.After the complaint, Medical College Chairperson Professor Dr. Lucy Das has ordered the
heads of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department and Pediatrics Department to submit a report. According to the complaint of the alleged child swapping in SCB, Chandrama Behera of Telaschua Sahi, Kumbarpada Police Station, Puri district, gave birth to a baby girl on the February 11. After birth, the sick newborn was taken to SNCU.
But after 24 hours, the staff allegedly told her that the baby had died. This was refuted by the family. However, the chairperson Professor Das said that she has ordered an investigation into the incident.
