Odisha Minister Warns of Stern Action Against Ineligible Ration Card Holders

Bhubaneswar,: Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has issued a stern warning to
these beneficiaries, urging them to surrender their cards voluntarily before corrective and stringent action is taken. The Minister emphasized that no penalty will be imposed on those who comply before the completion of the e-KYC process, but strict actions will be taken against others.A large number of ineligible beneficiaries hold ration cards in the state. About lakhs of government employees and unemployed people, especially doctors, teachers, and OAS officers, have been found to have their ration cards. This came to light during the e-KYC verification.The minister has warned those ineligible ration card beneficiaries. If they do not surrender their ration cards before the KYC process is completed, then stern action will be taken against them. The minister informed in this regard that the list of ineligible beneficiaries will be revealed during the e-KYC verification. While the ration card is for the poor, it is unfortunate that the poor and government employees are getting all these. So they should surrender it immediately
