Traffic Clubs in thousand schools will be opened for reducing road fatalities

Bhubaneswar,: Under the guidance of Honorary Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Odisha State Branch shri Ganesh Chandra Patra, Road safety week has been organised by Junior Red Cross wing at Red Cross Bhawan Bhubaneswar. Principal\ Secretary, Commerce and Transport Dept. Smt Usha Padhee joined as chief guest and siad Junior Red Cross Volunteers are different from other students. They always come forward to render services to the peoplebin need and emergency. She declared that Traffic Clubs will be opened in 1000 schools in joint association of Junior Red Cross and State Transport Authority to reduce road accidents and fatalities. Joint Commissioner, STA Shri Pradeep Kumar Mohanty joined and took a session on Road safety to create awareness among the volunteers and counsellors. Junior Red Cross officer Laxman Swain demonstrated some first aid skills for providing emergency care to road accidental victims for saving precious lives. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Behera coordinated the meeting. Treasurer IRS OSB, Labanya Sabar and Joint Secretary Ashok Kumar Mohanty were present. A human chain was formed in front of Red cross Bhawan with holding plycards to create awareness among the general people. A painting competition was organised among the volunteers and the best performed volunteers were awarded with merit certificate and trophy.
