Minister Niranjan Pujari presented the Rs 2 lakh crore full-fledged state budget for 2022-23 financial year he Legislative Assembly on Saturday, the first day of the monsoon session.
Here are the key highlights:Ÿ Odisha Government allocates Rs911 crore for sports sector including Rs 719 crore for development of infra, Rs 115 crore for promoting sports education and Rs 11 crore towards State’s contribution to Khelo India. Ÿ Rs 1,325 crore allocated for ABADHAscheme Ÿ Rs 200 crore each allocated for EKAMRA & SAMALEI schemes Ÿ Rs 150 crore allocated under Integrated Development of Heritage and Monuments and Tourist Destinations scheme Ÿ Rs 2,000 crore allocated for Mission Shakti Department Ÿ Rs 700 crore allocated for MUKTA scheme

healthcare facilities, quality education including school tr a n sf o rma ti o n , lif e a n d l i v e l i h o o d s , w o m e n empowerment as well as infrastructure development. The Budget size has increased to Rs.2 l akh c ror e and the Programme Budget to Rs.1 lakh crore. The capital spending will increase by more than 56%, which will foster growth. The Congress leader said since it is a sensitive issue and has ramifications all over the country, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should make a statement in the hous stating the state government’s stand on the issue. Charan Sethi vehemently opposed the statement of Mishra stating that since Sharma is neither a member of the house nor even a member of parliament the issue should not be discussed
in the house. Sethi said Nupur Sharma has been suspended from the party for her statement and BJP should not be linked with the issue.He questioned whether the Congress government in Rajasthan would resign for the riot in Rajasthan. The Speaker said since Nupur Sharma is not a member of the house we should not discuss it anymore and asked the members to cooperate in
smooth conduct of the business of the house. Mishra argued that he is not referring to any individual but to the Supreme Court observation that occurred due to an irresponsible statement made by an individual and reiterated his demand for a statement by the Chief Minister on the issue.
