Dumanimail,26/03 ; Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday announced a new Pune-Bangalore national highway to be constructed with a provision of Rs 40,000 crore, which would go from drought affected tehsils in Sangli and Satara districts. Gadkari was addressing in a peoples dedication ceremony by digital of Borgaon to Vatambare and Sangli to Sonand Jat between Sangll-Solapur under Ratnagiri-Nagpur national highway this afternoon in presence of state water resources minister Jayant Patil,
Bhartiya Janata party state president Chandrakant Patil and others. Gadkari said that this new substitute highway to present Pune-Bangalore national highway, would create from Pune, Satara, Khandasari, Phaltan, Khatav, Khanapur, Tasgaon and Kavathe-Mahankal and then would connect to Pune ring road. As the prices of steel has increased, the goverment has decided to use Butamin and would give permission to vehicles to travel with 120 km per hour, Gadkari said.
