Paradip: The national highway from Atharbanki to Dochki, the main gateway to Paradip port, has become a dead trapped due to lack of maintenance and potholes on the road. In one such incident on last Saturday evening, a wellknown working journalist of Paradip, Gyan Ranjan Acharya while returning to Paradip from his work by his scooty fell into a big pothole near Terminal Street and was seriously injured. However, the police patrolling team of Paradip Model Police station reached on the spot immediately and took and admitted him to Community Health Center in Atharbanki. After his condition was critical, he was shifted to Cuttack and then to AMRI Hospital in Bhubaneswar. It is noted that in the same day, many people were injured by felling inthe same ditch. However, after the protest and complained by the working journalists over the road repair and traffic control problems, the National Highway Authority repaired the potholes in some places due to the efforts of the police administration. But till now the roads has not been completely repaired. The public has expressed dissatisfaction due to the negligence of NHAI and frequent occurrence of such accidents.
