5T initiatives of the State Government, the state-run schools in Odisha are recording an increase in student’s admission. The State Government’s effort to improve education through 5T-driven school transformation programme has reflected positively in Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2022. Odisha. The report, which was released after the gap of four years by Pratham Education Foundation, revealed that
the student’s enrollment in government schools in O d i s h a i n c r e a s e d impressively from 88% in 2018 to 92.1% in 2022 despite the challenges of COVID-19 pandemic. The proportion of children in this age group who are not currently enrolled has dropped to 0.8 pc, the survey stated. The survey was conducted throughout 900 villages
across all the 30 districts covering 17,786 households and 28,780 children in the age group 3 to 16 in the State. As per the survey, the useable toilets in government schools increased to 82.1% in 2022 from 75.7% in 2018, provision of separate useable toilet for girls rose from 69.1% in 2018 to 76.5% in 2022. It also revealed that electricity connection reached to 93.7% schools compared to 56.5% in 2018. “Odisha’s effort to improve education through Odisha School Transformation has reflected positively in Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2022. As per the report, the percentage of kids enrolled in Govt schools rose from 88% in 2018 to 92.1% in 2022 despite pandemic”, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said. The State Government’s transformation initiative has unlocked new aspirations and opened the door of new horizons for the school students.
