Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Nuakhai-western Odisha’s agrarian festival, the State government today announced to release next tranche of financial assistance of Rs 2,000 each to farmers under the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and I n c o m e A u g m e n t a t i o n (KALIA) scheme. The assistance will be released on the occasion of Nuakhai which falls on September 1 (Thursday). Sources said that around 41 lakh farmers in the State will receive the assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in theirbank accounts. A total of Rs 869 crore will be d is b u rs e d b y t h e St a t e government in this regard, sources added.
