Most prestigious Gangadhar Meher Lift irrigation project to be completed by Sept 2023: Naveen

Baragarh : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said the most important Rs 2090 crore Gangadhar Meher Lift irrigation project, now at different stages of construction, would be completed by September 2023.

Addressing a meeting at Bijepur organised for the distribution of Smart Health cards to the people under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana, Mr Patnaik described Baragarh as the land of Mother Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth and the rice bowl of Odisha.

Highly praising the farmers and weavers of the district he said like the farmers ,the weavers of the district have gifted Sambalpuri saree to the whole world.

Launching the distribution of Smart Health cards under the Biju Swasthaya Kalyan Yojana, Mr Patnaik said around 3.64 lakh poor people of the district would be benefited by it.

With this as many 11 districts including Baragarh were now covered under the Smart card health scheme.The Chief Minister also launched various development projects worth around Rs 300 crore in Bargarh district on the occasion.

Mr Patnaik also dedicated 71 transformed schools in the district under the 5T School Transformation Programme.

The chief minister claimed that Odisha is the only state in the country which has provided free treatment to all patients during Covid pandemic.
