Combined Raid by Police, Revenue & Excise , 50 Crores of Ganja Seized

Paralakhemundi: Gajapati district packed with contraband ganza at interior pockets of Mohana,Nuagada & RUdayagiri blocks. Intensified to earn such heavy amount tribals are demotivated by those expert business tycoons, who are keeping illicit relationship to squander huge amount after production from tribal communities.Rather tribal community lured by their approach instead of keeping their self reliance on forest products.Moreover hardly any interventions felt by either revenue or forest or excise departments to bring them under food security through various inputs. Moreover 2023 is regarded as International Millet Year. So such propagation missing to sensitize those tribals. So on prior information on ganza cultivation, before Collector Gajapati district Smrutiranjan Pradhan & by the instructions of both Collector & SP Swathy S. Kumar& Superintendent of Excise Prabhat Kumar Sethy,a team formed among revenue,forest & excise departments. Combined team walked long,on their daredevil adventure of 14 kms through interior Pengam & Guimora villages of Juva panchayat of Mohana block of Gajapati district.They found ganza cultivation in 95 acres of forest land. Those areas burnt by the team which would have costed 50 crores on production.But the gang could be informed earlier & whisked away from spot. While destroyed those ganza cultivated land they too faced attack of snake & wild animals of the area. Though such cultivation done by poor tribals but mafia gang use to gather huge amount by such transportation. On this raid SDPO RUdayagiri Aswini Kumar Nayak, IIC Mohana Basant Sethy, Excise Officer Mangal Chatria, Bingaraj Damo, Mudi Sabar, Prasanna Patel & from Excise squad Bhagirathi Jena, Dipak Mahapatra, Prabhat Nagabansha & other staff joined in the squad team.
