Bhubaneswar : Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha on Wednesday announced a new scheme of assessment for Classes IX and X students for the academic session 2021-22.
BSE Vice President N R Mohanty said under the new scheme the academic session for 2021-22 will continue till April 2022 without any long vacation.
Mr Mohanty said the academic session in 2021-22 will be divided into two terms. While the first term will last from July to November, the second term will be from December to April 2022. Fifty percent of the syllabus will be covered in each term.
He said the internal assessment for Class IX and X will be done in the form of Formative Assessment (FA) by the Class and Subject teachers on Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation pattern.
Mr Mohanty said the first FA will be held in the second week of September, the second in the first week of November. The third and the fourth will be conducted in the second week of January and March respectively with a total mark of 20 for each FA.
He said there will be two term end examinations for Class IX . While the first examination will be held in the third week of November this year , the second, and the final examination will be held during the second week of April next year.
The exam will be held at the school and it will have 20 marks each of multiple choice questions and subjective questions.
While the questions will be prepared by the BSE, the evaluation will be done by a neutral school to be notified by the Board. The questions will cover 50 percent of the syllabus .
Mr Mohanty said in case, the term end examination could not be held in school due to the pandemic the students can write the examination at their home and submit the answer papers in school for evaluation by a neutral school.
The pattern of examination will be multiple choice questions of 50 marks and subjective questions of 30 marks.
