Paradip: All tanker driversand helpers employed at theHindustan PetroleumCorporation Limited (HPCL)Paradip Terminal who are themembers of Paradip PortMazdoor Sangh headed byrenowned union leaderPrakash Tripathy are nowpreparing for quit steeringmovement. According tosources, on last 27thSeptember, the union gave 9chatters of demands to HPCLauthorities regarding variousproblems and issues of thedriver and helpers.However, on 20th OctoberFriday, when the office bearersof the union went to meet theterminal manager regardingdiscussion over this matters,it was alleged that thecompany authorities avoidedthem and filed a false case inthe police station against oneunion executive body membDumanierShamsundar Haldar.After the incident, thedrivers, helpers and unionprotesting over themanipulate reactions of thecompany authorities. Inshort, if the company is not withdrawaland resolved theirissues in two days,the unionthreat that all the drivers willquit stealing from Monday,stated Prakash Tripathy,president, PPMU.
