New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed states to provide information about the number of migrant children and benefits extended to them.
The order came on the plea filed on behalf of NGO Child Rights Trust seeking directions for the protection of migrant children’s fundamental rights amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
A bench comprising Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian also asked the states to file replies in the matter.
Senior advocate Jayna Kothari appeared for the petitioners.
