New Delhi, Apr 13 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre victims.
“Tributes to those martyred in the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Their courage, heroism and sacrifice gives strength to every Indian,” PM wrote on Twitter.
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, took place on April 13, 1919, when Acting Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer ordered British troops to fire their rifles into a crowd of unarmed Indian civilians in Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar amid nationwide protests against the Rowlatt Act which had extended wartime repressive measures killing at least 379 people and injuring over 1,200 other people.
