The government on Wednesday said in the Rajya Sabha that there is no vacant seat in government engineering colleges in the country. Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar, responding to BJP MP KC Ramamurthy, said there was a continuous increase in the number of approved seats in government engineering institutions since 2019-20 to 2021-22.
“The AICTE has started a portal named National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) aimed at bringing the best technological solutions in education technology to enhance youth employability,” the Minister said. He said that the government had been able to provide education in all corners of the country with equity, quality, affordability and accessibility. Responding to supplementaries, the Minister said the placement of engineering students did not decline in the country even during the pandemic period.
