Mumbai : A counterfeit currency racket has been busted in the Pydhonie area of Mumbai, one person has been held and the printing factory has been sealed.
A case has been registered against accused Shabbir Hasan Qureshi, a resident of Mumbai in relation to operating this fake currency instalation.
During the raid, the city police recovered Rs 1,60,000 in counterfeit notes, 53 fake notes were of Rs 2,000 denomination.
Besides this, a computer printer and other material required to produce fake notes have been recovered from Shabbir’s house, said the police.
“The accused was printing notes at his own house, he has been printing these notes for the past several days and has distributed them in different markets of Mumbai,” said the police.
Further investigation into the case is on.
