Gadchiroli/Nagpur : At least eight Naxals were said to be killed during an encounter by C-60 commandos at Gyarapatti forest in the early hours of Saturday at Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district.
According to sources, the gun battle took place at Dhanora of Gyarahbatti forest area in the district, when a police team was conducting search operation.
As soon as the Naxals saw the commandos, they started firing, which was retaliated by the police. Seeing the growing pressure from the police side, the outlaws fled into the forest, said the sources.
The search operation is still on, sources said, adding that the toll may increase.
