Thackeray thanks PM for more supply of Remedesivir

Aurangabad/Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for considering his request to enhance Remedesivir drug stock to state in view of more severe cases in the state.

It may noted that Mr Thackeray had drawn the attention of the Center to the problem created by the shortage of Remedesivir injections in the state and had also requested the Prime Minister through a letter.

Maharashtra, the worst affected state in the country has been registering more than 65000 cases and above 500 fatalities per day from past couple of weeks.

Considering the state request a letter in this regard has been received last evening from Navdeep Rinwa, Joint Secretary, Department of Medicine, Union Health Department. This supply was earlier 2,69,000 vials, now it has been increased to 4,35,000.

As per the demand of the states across the country, the center will supply 16 lakh remedial vials and manufacturing companies have been asked to supply them as a priority.
