In the second phase of the Covid 19, the state government had imposed a two weeks lockdown from May 5 which was further extended to till June 1 in view of rise in daily covid cases in the state.

Only four districts- Kandhamal, Malkangiri,Gajapati and Deogarh have TPR below 5 percent while districts like Khordha,Cuttack,Balasore and Bhadrak have TPR above 30 percent.

However, the TPR in as many as 20 districts in the state has reported over 10 percent.

However, Trader organizations in the state have demanded that in the event of further extension of lockdown in the state, the government should increase the relaxation time for opening of essential shops.

Presently ,the government had given relaxation for the people to purchase essential services between 7 AM to 11 AM.
