Mumbai: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to his former team mate and childhood friend Vinod Kambli.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, the Master Blaster
extended greetings to Kambli on his 50th birthday.
“Happy birthday Kamblya! The innumerable memories we have had both on & off the field are something I shall cherish forever. Looking forward to hear from you on how 50 feels. God bless you!,” the former Indian skipper tweeted.
Tendulkar also posted a couple of pictures with the former Indian left-hand batter, including one from their childhood.
Kambli thanked his friend for the wish.
“Thank you Master. 50 for me feels as energetic and young as a new born baby,” he posted on Twitter.
Both are childhood friends and were trained by late Ramakant Achrekar.
Kambli had played 17 Tests and 104 One Day Internationals between 1991 and 2000. He scored 1,084 and 2,477 runs in Test and ODIs respectively.
While Tendulkar, during his illustrious career that lasted for 24 years, scored 18426 and 15921 runs in Test and ODIs, respectively. He also scored 100 tons, 49 in ODIs and 51 in Tests, being the only cricketer to achieve this milestone in international cricket.
