Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday rose by 176 pts at 49,378.23 as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty too moved up by 59.30 pts to 14,742.80.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 49,407.23 and 49,093.90 pts respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 14,754.05 and 14,649.85 respectively.
The Mid Cap was up by 0.64 pc and Small Cap by 0.78 pc.
In 30 scrips 22 advanced while 8 declined.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 1.76 pc to Rs 541.45, Powergrid by 1.65 pc to Rs 212.70, Titan by 1.50 pc to Rs 1548.75, ONGC by 1.25 pc to Rs 105.15 and Reliance Industries by 1.23 pc to Rs 2007.95.
The losers were HDFC Bank by 0.37 pc to Rs 1435.55, Bajaj finance by 0.32 pc to Rs 4976.45, TCS by 0.22 pc to Rs 3256.80 and Tech Mahindra by 0.15 pc to Rs 990.05.
