Puducherry : A record Rs 10 crore liquor sale was reported in Puducherry in the last two days after lock down relaxation.
According to official sources,Puducherry used to have a liquor sale for Rs.3.5 crore a day when all the bars were also opened.Now ,when the liquor shops were opened after 43 days following lock down relaxation,bars were not permitted to function.Even then,such a huge sale was recorded,thanks to the apprehension among the people that the liquor shops may be closed again and as the shops in adjoining Tamilnadu remained closed still.
A large number of people thronged the liquor shops on the borders of Tamilandu and Puducherry and police will have to control them to stay in queue maining social distancing to get liquor.
