Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday gave away appointment letters to 6,891 to High School teachers in the State. A ceremony was organised at Kalinga Stadium to mark the occasion where Naveen expressed confidence that the new appointees will work towards brightening the future of students. A training-cum-induction programme was also held on the occasion at the Kalinga Stadium for the teachers. The CM said, “The employment programme in Odisha is working in full-flow. During the last 3 years, more than 14,000 teachers have been appointed.” “I wish all of you for choosing a noble profession like teaching as a career. Teachers are nation builders and education has the ability to change the fortune of the society,” the CM said, and highlighted the 5-T H i g h S c h o o l T r a n s f o r m a t i o n programme. “So far, 4,000 high schools across Odisha have been tr ansformed and by December 2023, another 4,800 schools will be transformed under the programme.” Ministers Pratap Jena, Tukuni Sahu, and Samir R a n j a n D a s h a ls o addressed and encouraged the new appointees on the occasion. Among others, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, School and Mass Education Secretary B is h n u p a d a S e t h i , Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and other officials of the S&ME Department were presen.
