BSF recovers weapons dropped by Pak drone in J&K’s Samba

Jammu : Alert troops of Border Security Force on Friday have recovered a cache of arms and ammunition dropped by the drone from Pakistan in bordering Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

BSF spokesman here said that on specific information regarding crossing of Arms and Ammunition through Drone from Samba border area, troops of BSF carried out search operation in general area of Samba sector.

“At about 1130 hours, BSF troops recovered a wrapped item with yellow colour polythene bag in a field,” he said adding that further troops after taking all precautionary measures opened the wrapped packet and found one AK -47, one Pistol, one Magazine, 15 round of 9 mm, one wooden frame (used to attach payload with drone) and wrapping material.

Distance from international approximately 250 meters inside Indian Territory, he said.

The efforts of alert BSF troops deployed in multi-tiered grid have once again resulted in neutralizing the designs of Pakistan anti-national elements activities with deep connivance of Pakistan Rangers, said the spokesman.

He added that it was the same area a tunnel was detected on Nov 22, 2020 and a Pakistani intruder was killed on May 5, 202i while on June 20, 2020, BSF troops neutralized a Pak Hexacopter in Samba/Kathua area and recovered huge quantity of Arms/Amns and explosives.

Inspector General BSF Jammu N S Jamwal congratulated the alert BSF troops for this big achievement which again foiled the nefarious motive of Pakistan and said that BSF is ever alert and vigilant on International Border 24×7 to thwart away the nefarious designs of Pakistan.
