Amit Shah meets heads of NCUI, NAFED & IFFCO

New Delhi : Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Saturday met National Cooperative Union of India Dilip Sanghani and IFFCO chairman BS Nakai and Managing Director US Awasthi, and NAFED Chairman Dr Bijendra Singh at his residence here.

Mr Shah told them that this government was committed to make cooperatives and cooperative institutions more empowered under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Taking to twitter, he said, “Met@ncuicoop chairman Dilip Sanghaiji, @IFFCO_PR chairman BS Nakai ji, Managing Director Shri US Awasthi ji, NAFED Chairman Dr Bijendra Singh. Under leadership of Modi ji, we are committed to make cooperatives and cooperative institutions more empowered”.

Mr Shah has been given the additional charge of the newly created Ministry of Cooperation in the mega reshuffle and expansion of the Council of Ministers on July 7.

He has not officially assumed the charge of this new ministry but he has already started meeting the people concerned and officials, a Home Ministry official said.

The Ministry of Cooperation was created by the Modi government on July 6 which will provide a separate administrative, legal and policy framework for strengthening the cooperative movement in the country.
